19

This last weekend I celebrated my 19th Birthday.
I was born on a foggy night on January 22nd 1992 around 3:00 a.m. A new baby helpless and fresh to the world. Souly dependent on my parents to teach and nurture me and help me grow. Now here I am at almost 3:00 a.m. 19 years later curled up in a blanket listening to my favorite song and reviewing a year gone by in my life. A new chapter begins a time for more growth and changes, some are going to be hard, others may feel challenging now but will help in the long run like finding a job and going to school or even changing my sleep schedule. I'll meet new people and learn new things, read more books, find more things to cry about, change my hair, change it again, fall in love, learn to let go, spend more time with my wonderful friends, take naps, make mistakes, but always I'll be myself.
I didn't do anything on my birthday as a matter fact I slept for most of it due to the fact that I was sick. When I woke up I found my house full of my brothers friends and laughed to myself. I didn't receive very much just a few things here and there but all where very appreciated. I didn't want anything for my birthday but I got everything I could ever want. The best gift I received this year was the chance to go see my dear friend Lady Lucy. Thinking back on it I don't remember a birthday in this house that Lucy wasn't apart of for one reason or another.

The day before my birthday I gathered up the most amazing women I can imagine and we all spent 4 hours in Clifford the big red van, i.e. the best car ever. The morning of I woke up to the sound of phone I had received a message from a talented and beautiful girl named Jamie. She was stuck at the U without a ride so I started my day off the way I wish I could everyday by going to see her. Later we gathered up the delicious Anita and the unfathomably wonderful Leigh. Then we swung around to the community college to gather my astoundingly gorgeous twin Sarah. From there we pressed one toward Ephraim with a stop in Provo to picked up the intelligent and incredible Morgan. Crammed in with some of my favorite people we ventured forth to the one stop light town that always fills my heart with so much joy. Up the stairs we fled and into the magnificent Kylee Berry's dorm where hugs and laughter and joy filled the space. We then crept down to the street to the home of some of the most amazing girls on the face of this planet. Due to a request I didn't tell Lucy that Leigh and Jamie where coming.

And this is her reaction shot.
It was worth every penny I spent on gas and even though I felt incredibly sick and the drive was long. Seeing all of my friends like this was worth more then any gift anyone could ever give me.

Now I will stop blathering and show you a few more highlights from the journey. Mainly the tables that are in the library...because there flippen sweet.

I hope you have a magnificent weekend and I'll see you next week. Until then here is one more picture of one of my favorite gifts (Eric sent them...he spoils me ;)

and my favorite song at the moment, mainly because this music video is so cute you can't help but smile when you watch it.

And with that I bid you all adieu.

  1. Darling Emily,

That was an amazing day as I sort of recall. I can't recall it all because.. I'm sure I got sleep that night. Odd how that works. Either way I'm glad it went splendidly for you! In fact! I'm glad the flowers I sent seemed to cheer you up so very much. Your friends are amazing, each in their own way, given I've never spoken to Leigh or Jamie.. from what I hear through you they seem wonderful. Especially when they go hungry, but I digress. The photo of Lucy's reaction, 11/10 easy! The raw emotion! Oh my goosh! And seeing all you girls together, it fills my heart with such overwhelming joy that my soul soars among the clouds! Happy 19th Emily, I really hope this year turns out to be the best yet, I really hope that it turns out to be a year you remember for the rest of your life!

    Love ya,

    Eric.

P.S. Those flowers are wonderful looking and I hope they made you happy! Whoever sent them seems like an awesome guy.
